Upon the creation of the Akyemansa District, a new Education Directorate was carved out of the Birim North Education Directorate. This took place in the year 2008. As part of measures to ensure proper decentralisation within the Education sector, a rented four-room accommodation was acquired for use as an office which has served its purpose till date.
The Education Directorate have had four (4) Directors since 2008. The table below shows the names of the Directors and the periods they have served.

VISION
Provision of quality education to all school going age pupils at the first and second cycle level leading to the acquisition of relevant knowledge and skills to aspire to higher levels of education and become useful to themselves, the community and the nation at large.
MISSION STATEMENT (Actions to Achieve the Vision)
In fulfillment of the vision, the Directorate will;
- Provide facilities to ensure functional literacy and numeracy
- Encourage quality education for improved performance
- Encourage good and brilliant but needy pupils, access to Basic Education
- Build the capacity of Teachers, Headteachers and Education Officers for efficient management
- Encourage the study of Technical, Vocational, Science and ICT Education.
ZONING OF THE DISTRICT INTO CIRCUITS
The district is zoned into eight circuits. Each Circuit has more than twelve schools within its jurisdiction. The names of the circuits are; Ofoase, Chia, Akokoaso, Ayirebi, Abenase, Anyinase, Etwereso and Adubiase. Each circuit has a resident Circuit Supervisor who monitors the activities of teachers and learners and ensures adherence to laid down rules and regulations. This is one of the measures put in place to ensure that the directorate is in touch with realities in the schools. The District Education office has a total staff of thirty-nine (39). This includes both teaching and non-teaching staff.

SECOND CYCLE SCHOOLS
The Akyemansa district is blessed with two second cycle schools namely, Ayirebi Senior High and Akokoaso Senior High/Technical School. Each school is unique in terms of location, courses, and facilities.
- AYIREBI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (AYISEC)
This school was established in 1992 with a total student enrollment of one hundred and thirty (130). The school now has an enrolment of one thousand, three hundred and ninety-two (1392) and a total of eighty (80) teaching and non-teaching staff. The courses offered by the school are; General Arts, Business Accounting, Agricultural Science, Visual Arts and Home Economics.

- AKOKOASO SENIOR HIGH/TECHNICAL SCHOOL(AKSTS)
This school was established in 1984 with a total student enrollment of 10 students as a purely day school but can now boast of a total student enrollment of one thousand and twelve (1,012). The school now has boarding facilities. AKSTS has a total staffing population of sixty-three (63) as both teaching and non-teaching.
The courses offered by the school are; General Arts, Business, Agricultural Science, Visual Arts, Home Economics and Technical Skills.
